Patients' bill of rights
Several Canadian provinces are considering Patient's Rights legislation. What are the implications to providers? Experience in the United Kingdom and the United States holds lessons. Over the past decade Canadians have been discussing and demanding what has become known as a "Patients' Bill of Rights." As questions of access and quality care have become increasingly important political and social issues, there has been greater interest in protecting Canadian patients through legislation designed to make the publicly funded and governed healthcare system accountable to those that it serves.
