Addressing the politics of the health human resources crisis in Canada
A long-standing problem that we face with health human resources (HHR) in Canada is the politics of transformative change, rather than fundamental disagreements about the policy framework underpinning the required changes. A ‘window of opportunity’ has now emerged in Canada, with decision-makers faced with a compelling problem (an HHR crisis) and viable policy options (based on an established policy framework). The big challenge is finding or creating the ‘conducive politics.’
